From the Bride…

1. What is your story as a couple?

We met at our friend’s 30th birthday party. At the time, Kelly thought Tony was super cute, but he was off the market place. Quickly forward 9 months and we ran into every other once more at the exact same friend’s going away party. Tony asked Kelly out and we went on our very first date the following week. The day right after our very first date, Kelly left for Greece on a trip with her family. We reconnected when she returned. Two years later we went on our personal trip to Greece, exactly where Tony popped the question–only 5 days right after Kelly’s brother proposed to his girlfriend! We got engaged on the balcony of our hotel space in Crete! That hotel (the Porto Veneziano) has a quite unique place in our hearts and we hope to return to it someday quickly. Tony and I are each close with our families, so we have genuinely enjoyed this time celebrating with them!

2. What produced you chose your venue(s)?

Kelly grew up in the Greek Orthodox Church and Tony is really converting to Orthodoxy the Sunday ahead of our wedding. He decided in January that he was going to convert. We chose the Radisson Blu as we wanted somewhere downtown where people could walk to their hotel rooms at the end of the evening. We also necessary somewhere to hold the over 400 individuals we invited!

3. What inspired your wedding day outfits?

Kelly wanted some thing that was romantic and classic but also had its own flair. Tony wanted to put on something classic and standard

4. What inspired your wedding decor? Why did you select the factors that you did?

The reception hall at the Radisson Blu is very white and sterile, but it allows for you to decorate it however you want. We wanted to bring in some colour and warmth to the area. We also picked the flowers as Kelly loves the look of tall flowers sort of “hanging” out of a vase. We wanted something diverse.

5. Did you have any Do it Oneself DIY projects? If so, can you describe them in detail?

We did our own wedding favors. It is Greek tradition get a bunch of girls together to make the boutonnieres (jordan almond favors) so we got the components on Amazon, Michaels and we ordered the koufeta (Jordan almonds) from a retailer in California. We had all the girls more than to Kelly’s mom’s for dinner and produced them in a single evening. We will also see if this takes place, but I really wanted to have wine corks as the name card holders. My cousin tested them out and he took sandpaper and rubbed the cork till it was flat. He then took a razor blade and reduce a slit in the wine cork and it held a sample card. We are hoping to get those carried out prior to the wedding, but we will see if that happens. 🙂 Other than that, we are not crafty sufficient to do something else!
