Why did you have an intimate wedding?

We knew we didn’t want a large wedding to start with and we both enjoy Maui (and so do our parents) so we decided a beach wedding was the way to go!

What are some the challenges that you faced preparing an intimate wedding?

Given that it was a destination wedding, we didn’t get a possibility to visit venues and taste food/cakes. We relied on advice from our wedding planner Makena Weddings for all of our choices and were really content with every thing she helped us pick out.

Was it tough to pare down the guest list?

No, we invited all our family, even although we knew numerous couldn’t come, and our closest close friends.

Did you have any ‘issues’ with the tiny guest list from pals and family? If so, how did you address them?

From the beginning, we wanted a tiny location wedding so we planned a reception to have back home soon after the wedding. Getting two receptions was a lot of perform but undoubtedly worth it due to the fact we got our dream beach wedding and nevertheless were able to celebrate with all our family and buddies back home.

What had been the highlights of the ceremony?

Becoming on the beach in front of all our friends and family members was remarkable. Our officiant, who we just met the day before, made the ceremony specific and added humor all through the complete factor. Our photographer knew precisely exactly where to get the very best images during the ceremony and reception. We are in really like with all of our wedding photographs!

What had been the highlights of the reception?

The place was breathtaking and almost everything was set up just as we had pictured it. We got to take pleasure in remarkable meals with all our pals, watch the sunset and then danced the evening away.

What was the very best point about obtaining an intimate wedding?

Obtaining a modest location wedding on Maui was the best decision we produced. We had been capable to spend top quality time with our friends and family before, for the duration of and soon after the wedding.

What guidance do you have for couples who are thinking about an intimate wedding?

Decide what is most crucial to you and do not let all the little information anxiety you out. The day of the wedding goes so swift so don’t neglect to stop, take a breath and enjoy every moment!
